Community Sports Hub

This is an exciting project which provides much needed sport and recreation facilities for the community. It is located just off the Boship roundabout to the North of Hailsham along the A259/A267. The site opened on 5 August 2026

As part of the Football Foundation’s Hubs Programme the project received a grant of £3.5million from the Premier League, The FA and government’s Football Foundation. The rest of the project, almost £13m, was funded by the Council. The site is operated on a not-for-profit basis by the Football Foundation’s charity, Leisure United, and overseen by The National Football Trust. Any surplus income generated from the facility will be reinvested into local grassroots sports.

What is available?

The project addresses in part the identified deficit of community-use sports facilities available across Wealden and encourages healthier, more active lifestyles for all age groups by providing:

two floodlit full size 3G football pitches

four dual use floodlit netball/tennis courts

two floodlit padel tennis court

skate park

inclusive children's play area

and a sports building with community café and meeting space, changing rooms, toilets (including Changing Places toilet)
